[Update] v0.1.26 - Improved Chat, Moderators, Chat commands

As you may have guessed, this update is mainly focused on improving the chat for both the streemers and the viewers. If this is not something you care about, there is some info about the next update at the end of this post.

Chat Commands

The biggest change with this chat update is actually under the hood. We've added a commands system along with the new chat moderation features to let you take full control of your chat room.

To demonstrate the capabilities of this new system, we've included a few simple commands for you to experiment with.

Viewers commands

/uptime [Tells you how long this channel has been live for.]

Moderator commands

(Channel owner can also use these)
/ban username [Bans username from talking in this channel.]
/unban username [Allows username to talk in this channel again.]

Note: The moderation module is still very simple. Timeouts (temp bans) and message deletion will be added in the near future.

Channel owner commands

/mod username [Gives username moderator rights in your chat.]
/unmod username [Revokes username's moderator rights.]

Ease of Use

You've asked for it, and we had to do it. The emotes are here! No longer do you have to be an emoji wizard to express yourself properly... You can now use the simple emotes panel included in the chat client to add a bit of life to your messages!

Usernames are now colored to make it more readable when you have a lot of people in your chat.

Up Next

While 0.1.26 is largely focused on improving the chat back end, the primary goal with 0.1.27 is to improve usability by redesigning a portion of the UI. The feedback we're getting shows us that setting up your profile is currently not as intuitive as it should be.

The dashboard and settings will be unified to simplify everything, hopefully making things easier for new streamers.
