The EPA will stop monitoring chloroprene near controversial St. John Parish plant at year's end

Residents suspect the plant's emissions are making them sick. Last August, the state announced it would go door to door to count the number of residents within a 2.5-kilometer radius of the plant who have cancer to determine if there is an elevated rate of the illness in the community.

Interesting article about how the EPA is going to stop monitoring chemicals coming from a plant in St. John Parish. Wow, this doesn't seem possible, shouldn't the EPA be monitoring chemicals out of all chemical plants, that's just seems like common sense to me. I wouldn't take a free house to live next to a chemical plant, I fell for the people that do because they no choice. My guess is that the people are eventually proven right, that they are getting sick from the plant, and that a bunch of lawyers make a lot of money from it. Sad!
