This is still technically an "alleged" hate hoax; but, the student did confess that she started the fire because people weren't paying attention to her after several subsequent alleged hateful acts leveled against her.
This has Jussie Smollett written all over it.
One of the alleged hateful actions taken against the student was that somebody apparently wrote, "You're a bad person because you're black." on the door of her dorm room.
I'm sorry but....seriously...a writer on 7th Heaven trying to write an episode about race using TV-G language could have come up with something more convincing.
