Drawing A Line Between Hearing And Listening

in voices •  5 years ago  (edited)

Maybe it’s the sound of your own or maybe you’ve imagined what mine sounds like, it’s one of those—the one you’re using right now to proof read this sentence. We all have them, I just think there’s too many people listening to the wrong ones these days.

Voices

I’m not the only one battling a closet case of multiple multiple multiple disorder split disorder split personality, am I? I can define empathetic, remorse is a normal emotion, and I have a thorough understanding of right and wrong so I don’t check all of these boxes. However, don’t skip the voice boxes—multiple voices and they’re all saying something different, all of the time, and echoing and I’m constantly having to decode, block, ignore and accept an individual voice which, by the way, one of them is echoing again, from a plethora of echoing voices during every waking moment of every single day :breathe: that part checks. It’s not until you begin reacting to the wrong ones that you could potentially create a problem.

Below is commentary I’m going to create, provided the proper voices are acknowledged, based on a list of nine people you’ve most likely never heard of with the exception of maybe just a few, each of whom acknowledged all of the wrong voices—crazy.

Meet Brandon Andrew Clark—a 21 year old murderer who ended the life of his 17 year old girlfriend by slitting her throat from ear to ear. His dad set a piss-poor example for him by repeatedly beating his mother but that doesn’t mean the good voices weren’t there—he just didn’t listen to them. “Put the knife down” would’ve been a good one to listen to. He could’ve listened to the one that said “don’t be like your dad” or “just break up with her” but, n0oOo! Brandon went with the one that said “slit her throat” and then listened to the other one that said “post pictures of her mutilated, dead body online” and, finally, “now slit your own throat and take a selfie.” He really missed the line on that one.

Meet Katrina Kraus—a 35 year old married school teacher who taught her 15 year old student the birds and the bees. She could’ve listened to the one that said “you’re a woman, you’ll do less time than a man would for touching a 15 year old child which makes no sense at all but you’re still going to have to face the consequences should you get caught.” Or the one that said “really? In a cemetery? We’re surrounded by headstones.” “He’s more than half my age” or “my husband wouldn’t approve of this” but, no0oO! Katrina listened to the one that said “I want a penis that’s attached to a 15 year old boy—preferably one of my students.” She really missed the line on that one.

Meet Yasmine Villasana—a 22 year old drunk driver who thought she could avoid paying the toll booth fee by claiming to be rear ended which caused her car to launch through the air, over the toll booth, before finally bursting into flames on the other side. She could’ve listened to the one that said “don’t panic just because you don’t have exact change” or, “you’re hammered, brakes are on the left, do not, I repeat, do not smash the peddle on the right!” “Toll booth operators have a direct line to police, wake up—pay attention” would’ve been appropriate but, no0oO! Yasmine listened to the one that sounded like the horn from the General Lee in Dukes Of Hazard. She really missed the line on that one.

Meet Alexander Hayden Sperber—a 25 year old aspiring comedian who was searching for the perfect way to jump start his #comedy career. The voice that said “just pay your dues and your time will come” didn’t make sense. Neither did the one that said “just do comedy as a hobby and don’t quit your day job.” He could’ve practiced his material and hired an agent to book comedy shows but, n0oO0! Alexander listened to the one that said, “pretend you have a gun, hold the bank teller hostage and demand she hand over 47 hundred dollars” but that wasn’t enough. He proceeded to listen to the other one that said “now strip off all of your clothes, get butt naked” and, yet another, “now run down the street as fast as you can while screaming and throwing the stolen money through the air.” He really missed the line on that one.

Meet George H.W. Bush—a former US president who died in November, 2018. The former president ran a Congressional Blackmail Child Sex Ring, known as “Operation Brownstar,” in the 1980’s, where he’d recruit young boys from various orphanages across the United States to be transported to Washington DC where they would be drugged and raped by an elite society of men and women. He could’ve listened to the ones that said “your son walks in your shoes” or “imagine grown men abusing your children the way you and your friends do” but, no0oO! George listened to the voice that said “send the caretakers home—say the boys fell asleep” and “we’ll use taxpayer money to fund The Franklin Coverup and then draw first blood on Iraq as a diversion.” He really missed the line on that one.

Meet Thomas Tramaglini—a 42 year old superintendent for Kenilworth Public Schools in New Jersey, USA. He received administrative paid leave to defend himself against public defecation, lewdness, and littering. After complaints of someone pooping on the public school running track “daily,” a surveillance team was assembled to catch the perpetrator, which they did, at approximately 6am the morning the superintendent was arrested. He could’ve listened to the one that said “we have to stop drinking coffee in the morning” or “we really need to run in places less public” but n0oOo! Thomas listened to the one that said “you’re free like a cat—the track is your litter box!” He really missed the line on that one.

Meet Woody Bernard Duclos—a former Burger King employee in Northern Florida. Duclos pleaded guilty to #food poisoning with intent to kill or injure someone after being suspended from his job for misconduct and received a five year sentence in the state penitentiary. On two separate occasions, Burger King patrons found Hydrocodone pills stuffed inside their burgers after removing the buns to add condiments. He could’ve listened to the one that said “you already got reprimanded for misconduct once” or “don’t do it! Someone could die” but, noOo0! Woody listened to the one that said “I’ll show you misconduct by stealing money from the register” and the other one that said “use the stolen money to buy pills and secretly feed them to unsuspecting victims.” He really missed the line on that one.

Meet Bill Clinton—a 73 year old former US President. After failing to hide his Monica Lewinsky scandal and swearing he didn’t inhale, journalist Jen Moore’s accusations wouldn’t be taken lightly—she’s dead now. The seemingly healthy, award winning journalist died at age 64 from a “seizure” exactly one week after reporting a Clinton rape victim, a now 26 year old man, to the FBI and Department of Justice. Allegations by the survivor claim he was abused at multiple sex parties hosted on a private yacht by Bill Clinton and attended by several D.C elites. He could’ve listened to the one that said “you have young children” or “this little boy won’t always be a little boy” but, noO0o! Bill listened to the one that said “only thing better than candy and ice cream is candy, ice cream, underage children, and rufie’s!” He really missed the line on that one.

Meet Victor Sibson—a 21 year old Alaskan native accused of murdering his high school sweetheart. In a failed attempt to take his own life, he’s now required to wear a protective helmet during court proceedings where friends describe the former couple as a “happy couple.” Police reported to the scene where they discovered two gun shot victims and only one bullet which was later determined to be a failed suicide attempt—the self inflicted bullet passed through his head and continued through the chest of his girlfriend, killing her. He could’ve listened to the one saying “if you think your #life is bad now, it’s about to get a whole lot worse” or, the other one, “don’t forget about your family and your girlfriends mother whom you call mom” but, noOoO! Victor listened to the one that said “bullet holes are like tattoos only a little more painful and a lot more risk.” He really missed the line on that one.

Edit - (@puravidaville just told me the Yasmine Villasana link routes back to this page—I have no idea why it’s doing that. I just tried attaching a completely different link with the same story and it’s still routing back to this article for some reason. Also, she asked me “uhm, did you compare yourself to a socio or psychopath??” I said “no, of course not. The people who listen to the wrong voices are.” ...Guess I really missed the line on that one.)

Hello @dandays, how are you doing? In my opinion hearing and listening are two words that are the same meaning ... for children will learn and imitate what is seen and heard. when he was a child he saw his father like to hit his mother so when he grew up he would often hit people and he thought that was normal ... Have a nice day, sir.

I’m only doing great if that counts, thank you for asking, happy Friday! How are you doing? I appreciate you keeping an eye on me and I always appreciate it when you share your opinions with us—thank you. 👍🏿

Thanks a lot for stopping by @elianaelisma.

Wow bro.

With the neuroplasticity ive been studying, listening to the wrong voice is actually changing the shape and functioning of the brain and can literally cause all kinds of havoc both internally and externally.

Also was having this verse pop into my head "For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them." Matthew 13-15 kjv

Man, look at that response, I think that’s record length from my one-hitter quitter east coaster, what’s up Weird? I hope you’re having a nice weekend.

Havoc—great use of the wOrd, sir. Thanks for checking out this article, I appreciate it.

I really appreciate the verse, I checked it out on my phone too, good one! 👍🏿 While we’re sharing, have you ever noticed my location on my profile? Check it out, tell me what you think, yeah?

Thanks for stopping by @weirdheadaches.

Haha thanks @dandays

Funny, i didn't catch that before. Pretty sure i saw it but it went over my head. Nice one. I used to love proverbs.

My pleasure. It never seems to be a bad day if I start it with that one.

Hey, good morning my friend, how the heck are you guys. There are a lot of sick people in this world and i feel that the real evil ones only hear but one voice.
Had no idea about the escapades of both Bush and Carter. How is it that years will pass and people like these two very perverted sickos can possible keep this stuff from getting out of the bag for so long. This is a very troubled world we live in and evil can be found around every corner. The other night Robin and I had a conversation about the state of humanity. Things are so bad, and I for one feel that it is only a matter of time until it all comes crashing down on all of us. there seems to be very little one can do to change the course of evil. The daily onslaught, reported on every front of these noxious animals can in itself cripple even the most robust soul. My remedy for this is to live my life purposely avoiding almost all news, written, broadcasted, or otherwise. I hate the feeling of not being able to correct a bad situation and we are all just pissing up a rope when it comes to impacting evil and making any headway to eradicate it.
This may sound selfish, but for me, at this point in my life, I only sweat things that effect those people in my very tight circle of friends and family, the hell with everything else.
I refuse to get caught up in stuff that I can't alter, and waste even a second thinking otherwise.
Now when it comes to those I love, I would do everything possible to nurture, protect, support, and advise in an effort to help.
One of the most profound things that was ever said to me was spoken by my eldest son. Not too long ago he said to me that I have earned the right to speak my mind when it comes to his personal life and that there is no other voice more important than mine. When things are not like I feel they should be, I will not hesitate to speak my mind and try to impact what needs to change. Everyone else can go to hell.
I told you that this would sound selfish, but if you can, give me just one example when your advice has made a difference in the big picture of all that is evil. Listening and hearing are most definitely not the same as hearing is an ability of the ear, and listening is the ability of the mind.
Stay safe.

My man! Good morning from UK, Bob, I hope you and Miss Robin are having a nice weekend. I had a few responses here this morning and saved this one for last—I love me some Sweed comments! 👍🏿 Good to hear from you again, by the way.

I didn’t know that about Bush or Clinton, either, I just started digging around online, the same way I did all of those articles, and found those about the presidents. Disturbing ain’t it?? I just think we all should know everything, not just what they want us to know. The wiser we get, the more we realize they’re no wiser than us, they just have more access to more technology for psychological warfare. Too many people praise those guys as though they’ve personally met them or something. 🤔 I just think they should know everything about them before they praise them.

Continuing on that subject actually, since we’ve been here, in the UK, I’ve been asked about three times now, “can I ask you something?” I can tell they’ve been itching for a long time to meet an American, I say “ask me anything you want.” ..”what do you think about Trump?” My answer would be the same if they stopped me 10-20 years ago, just insert the guys name: “I know you better than I know the president and I don’t trust you one bit, that’s what I think of him.”

That’s awesome your son recognizes that. It wasn’t until my mother left I began saying “moms earn the right to act like a mom.” Your son figured out the dad part before his dad was gone. 👍🏿

I’m with you about only sweating the things you have a chance at altering, absolutely. Isn’t it disturbing the amount of things and the magnitude of them that are slowly, one by one, coming to light?

Thanks for stopping by @thebigsweed, it’s been too long, sir.

Howdy sir dandays! lol..this was so grim until the last line of the Edit and that made me laugh. I came here for comedy man, what happened to you? I know, you listened to the wrong voice again!

Do you really hear voices? Not literally right? I never hear any, literal or not. Why does that last guy, Victor, have to wear a protective helmet?

  ·  5 years ago (edited)

Yes you do, the same one reading these words for you right now.

That helmet is what you get when you attempt to take your own life I guess... but it didn’t work and the bullet went through his head and into his girlfriends chest, killing her. I don’t think he listened to the right ones at all on that one.

Thank you for stopping by @Janton.

Howdy sir dandays! After all this time? You mean after everything you've done it's a miracl that anyone would still be following you? lol!

It that guy hadn't had the bullet go through his brain and hitting and killing his girlfriend...they would have called it a miracle. It's hard to believe it didn't kill him. Most would say it's a shame that it didn't, but at least he has a chance at redemption now. Of his spirit.

No, I've never heard any voices. I have thoughts though, is that what you're talking about or do you really hear voices? You might have more issues than we thought. lol.

  ·  5 years ago (edited)

Absolutely a miracle!

Call’em what you what, Janton, just make sure you don’t listen to the wrong ones. Thoughts. Tomato-Tomawtow

Esteem came by my last one without me having to say anything. I had no idea you were so high on the food chain. Thanks man.... for whatever you did.
