Hey Bruce, in my last post I propose an experiment regarding the size and distance of the moon. If it is in fact 238,000 miles away, this experiment will show it. All anybody needs is an eyeball. I proposed this question to @jeffberwick as a follow up to a video he posted regarding the shape and location of the Earth.

Awesome! Don't forget about refraction and the magnification effect it will have. I don't know of any way to measure the exact amount of refraction in the atmosphere. All I know is that the more moisture in the air the more refraction.

I don't know an exact way to measure refraction either, but I can see how it would magnify the size. It surely won't result in the moon measuring the same exact size all across the Earth if the moon is 3,000 miles away. If the moon is 238,000 miles away, it definitely will measure the same exact size from everywhere on Earth.

We have a couple of weeks till a nice full moon to put this to the test!
