Whenever there's a scene in a popular show in which the bride and groom "write their own vows." they're not vows.
Yeah, they're gonna say a lot of nice things to each other. They'll say things like, "You've made me the happiest person on Earth." Or, "You're the best thing that's ever happened to me."
Those aren't vows.
A vow doesn't need to be poetic. A vow can be, "I won't crush another pussy while I'm with you on this Earth." That's a fucking vow.
A vow is a commitment that you make to another person. It's not just an expression of the feelings that you have at the moment. It's a promise that you make to another person. It's a commitment. It's not an expression of feelings, no matter how good those feelings may be.
A vow is a promise. We might be better off as a society if we clarified that.
