id8i5Iz-Eok.jpgOn the popular crowdsfunding platform Kickstarter is collecting money for a new VR-headset company Pimax 8K called Pimax 8K. A chip of the new system in support of super-high resolution and a large viewing angle.

Features

As you can see from the title, the virtual reality headset Pimax 8K supports 8K resolution, and the developers position it as the first such system on the market. The device was equipped with two displays with a resolution of 3840 × 2160 pixels for each. In addition, the refresh rate is 90 fps, and the viewing angle of the VR system is 200 degrees, which is also a rarity for similar devices. With such capabilities, the user even with all the desire can not see the boundaries of the virtual world or the usual in this case, black bars on the edges of the image. Pimax 8K works on powerful PCs with video cards not lower than GeForce GTX 980 or 1070 models.

Release date and price

The basic kit of Pimax 8K can be ordered at a price of 499 US dollars. For 399 dollars, the developers offer a model Pimax 5K, with two screens of 2560 × 1440 pixels each. The viewing angle and frame rate are the same as for the 8K model. The project has already collected four times more money than it needs, although there is still a month and a half left before the end of the campaign. Therefore, Pimax 5K and Pimax 8K will definitely go on sale in January 2018.
