WHAT DOES MY DADDY REALLY WANT?
My Daddy says I am lazy and like freebies
Whereas I made a first class in the university
As a self sponsored student.
My father says I am lazy and idle
Whereas I always find myself
At the motor park by 5am
Hussling for a bus apprenticeship.
My father describes me as lazy and indolent
Whereas I am always in the market and motor garage
Before the gates open
With my barrow
looking for patronage
My father has given me
A lazy man's badge
Yet before offices open
Monday through Friday
I am always at their gates
Armed with my impecable certificates
Looking for job openings
Which he had tactically tightened
My father says I am lazy
Yet early in the morning daily
I am always at the city junction
Armed with my pick axe, shovel, hoe and machete
Waiting to be hired for daily job
What does Daddy really want from me?
To be a party thug
A hired killer
A drug pusher
An armed robber
A kidnapper?
Perhaps and perhaps
Any of these will keep me busy
And prevent me being lazy!
