A night out on the "ghost town".

Often on the weekends my wife and I will go out to eat and try new locations to experience. Driving distance is normally not an issue because we're old and don't have anything else better to do, ha!

My wife suggested a place called "Angry Troll Brewing" and I was all for it, I'm not too picky.

I didn't time how long the drive was but it was probably around an hour drive to the establishment.

Saturday was really hot and humid so as long as the place was air conditioned, I didn't really care where it was.

Upon arrival, this place looked really cool but kinda dead. There wasn't many people at all in there so we were seated instantly.

You could tell there was a lot of history in this little town and especially in the buildings.

I really enjoyed this place. The food was great and there was also a game room to enjoy. We played pingpong and I wiped the floor with my wife.

image

They even had corn-hole boards set up inside, how cool is that? I love to play corn-hole!

They had this cool game that I also love playing but I'm having trouble remembering what it's called, anyone know?

After beating my wife senseless at pingpong, we sat back down to take a break and enjoy a beverage or two and that's when I had an my unusual experience.

While sitting in this booth, I noticed something out of the corner of my eye. It appeared that I had saw a person running down the sidewalk, but this wasn't really a person. I mean at first glance it looked like a person but it had more of a ghostly appearance. It's really hard to explain but there appeared to be a white aura surrounding this being. I also felt a tingling sensation down my spine at the same moment.

I asked my wife "Did you see that?" She thought that I was referring to a woman dressed in goth that was standing outside. I told her that I saw something white running down the sidewalk and left it at that. Unfortunately she didn't see what I had saw. I didn't go in to detail with her about what I had just experienced because I was unsure of what I thought I had saw.

After leaving the restaurant, we walked up the street to look at the interesting scenery. You could just smell the deep history all around us. Here is some hand laid stone that someone worked very hard on.

image

This entire street just had a hinky vibe to it. There wasn't hardly anyone around and the lighting was quaint.

This set of stairs was right beside the hand laid stone that I showed you. I thought this photo helps describe the setting and show the type of lighting that was there.

Now, at this point we're walking towards our car and I haven't thought about my experience anymore. That is until what happened next.

We noticed a large group of people getting ready to go in to a building. Some of the people had antique looking lanterns and it just peeked my curiosity. There was a man standing outside the restaurant we had just been in and I asked him if he knew what the group was doing. He told me that it was a ghost tour or something. I was immediately intrigued and started asking him questions. They man said that he didn't know much about it but apparently there had been people murdered a long time ago and several people have had unexplained experiences since then. I immediately thought of @rebeccaryan and how she would love this type of thing.

After we got home I briefly looked on the net about ghosts in Elkin, North Carolina and I found where there was an actual ghost tour going on the same time we were there. Here is the link that tells about the tour and shows the dates. We were there on Saturday, June the 23rd.

Although I didn't see any details in why the town is haunted, I was interested in the underground tunnels that was mentioned being seen in the tour. Once cooler temperatures return, we will probably go back and take the tour.

What do you guys think? Do you believe in ghosts or other spiritual beings? Please let me know in the comments!

Very cool @bluelightbandit!

Love this type of town. Lots of history and perhaps ghosts. Reminds me a lot of Niagra on the lake in Ontario. It is an old town with lots of history and ghosts. Angle Inn is the place that has a famous ghost there. My husband and ate lunch there one rainy fall afternoon. Fire burning low in the hearth and rain gently pattering against the centuries-old windows. While enjoying lunch, we could hear heavy footsteps above us and the hearty laughter of a man. No-one lives on the second floor. The owner told us that it was the resident ghost and he must like us as he usually showed up at the late dinner hours...

Oh wow, that's an amazing story and experience, very cool!

How's things going in your area now? I haven't been seeing any updated posts on the situation.

I need to post. But it is hard for me to write about things when they only go from bad to worse. I will try to today...

Wow! The outing to me is a wonderful one especially when it come to doing this with spouse it goes a long way is creating serious bond.

Playing PingPong is one of my best games aside football and Atletics. You really dealt with your wife lolz on that table tennis.

And for ghost, hmmm! They exist and real good they exist. I have firsthand experience and Info on that.. My Dad's uncle passed on and he was burried, and this man's ghost was disturbing his wife and until one day my grand Pa called the kins men to alert them of the happening. His grave was dug and guess what was seen? His skull was as fresh as the day he was burried.

This is my view about it. Spirits exist.

Thanks for sharing this wonderful piece. You must love traveling and i guess is your hobby.

I am me @brightfame

Wow, that's crazy! Thanks for sharing your story! I also believe in spirits to a certain degree. I think it would be naive to think otherwise. Although, I do think some people tend to "amp up" the truth sometimes to make their story more appealing to others. Especially when the possibility of fame is in sight like on television shows and such. We're just a simple spec of dust in this majestic universe.

Pretty interesting my friend. The game you can’t temember the name of is shuffle board.👍

Ha, that's it! My mind is slippin, thanks!

I do not know whether there really is anything because ghosts have never met, but believe that there are some jin. But it takes lots of fun to watch the movie in ghost stories.
