The last leaves seem to be not about to fall soon...steemCreated with Sketch.

It was decided few days ago to walk around the neighbourhood this day, last Saturday, only to learn the night before that the temperature will be dropping to -1 degree. There was not even an option to linger under the bedcovers as our friend who was visiting was flying out of UK that afternoon. It was meant to be "our time" gossiping before he leaves.

An autumn view in winter!

A freezing weekend

Probably not my ideal temperature to go walking and so early in the morning, much less enough reason to leave my comfy and warm duvet. And it's the weekend? So so insane! I so wanted to not have a frozen butt the whole morning.

As we opted to go around the neighbourhood first then go to the park, going through the Regent canals wasn't an option as we always follow them before.

Though it's the start of winter, the autumn leaves remain to still brighten an otherwise gloomy and windy winter morning. A bit brutal and nippy to the exposed skin leaving you shivering to the bone.

The street path we chose to go to wasn't familiar, yet still part of the neighbourhood. I surely have not been here before. Keeping the park nearby as our focal point, we always go back to it whenever we took unknown side streets.

Our front garden

Few years ago, Vicky Park as we call it (Victoria Park) can be seen from our front door. There is a 180 degrees view from our flat, where the pond's fountain can be seen in between the trees. Boats around the pond can also be seen fleetingly. As there's a low building infront of ours before the park, our view can be dramatic. Concerts too can be heard loudly from our main door.

Believe it or not, this is my favorite tree as I used to come and read my book here.

My first 10k marathon was here at Vicky Park...together with some staff from our hospital. Took me an hour but that was an achievement for me.

My only memories of it, I went straight home after the finish line and slept. Oh and remembering hearing our pharmacist behind me showing-off, it was his last leg where i was doing my first😚 To do a marathon with the experts can be annoying😆

10k marathon is running around this area 3x.

We love going for a walk here in these parts, where around and across the park, the ground is so huge where football and cricket can be played. Gates can also be accessed to go out straight to the canals and go further.

As one of the largest parks in London, green and wide spaces are there for everyone to enjoy.

Playground

Unknown to me, there is also a huge playground for older kids.

In the summer, there's a pool at the bottom of the slides, to the left can be found  more of shorter slides with the ground full of sand.

This definitely warrants coming back with my god-daughter. So long as I'll have something to bribe her with to even consider going home🤣

Last but not the least...

I saw a couple of ponds, with one for fishing. Not now while it's winter but definitely a place for picnics in the summer!
