The Moment You Have Been Waiting For...

IMG_2662.JPG

Lyndsay, suffering in the snow. Well, it's here. It was snowing when I awoke and it kept coming down all morning, so I got out for a walk to show you the white stuff before it melts.

Snow doesn't last long where we live, in December. It'll start sticking more in February. I was very concerned for my camera while I was out walking, so there's not too many photos. Every time I took it out of its case I had a mini heart attack watching the snow cover it! I don't have many material things, yet what I do have, I like to take perfect care of.

My computer, my camera and my wedding ring, the three things I have that no one else is allowed to touch.
And as you can imagine, all are in beautiful shape even though they are old.

Leaving our home. The chickens are all being chicken, and hiding in the big greenhouse. I'm glad they have this, and the other greenhouse, for shelter on days like today.

IMG_2657.JPG

IMG_2658.JPG

Everyone was all warm and dry inside the greenhouse except this poor guy. D'awwww...the lowest on the pecking order, poor little black Roo. He's just all alone standing on a rock with the snow accumulating on his back. I imagine he's keeping lookout. A shitty job but someone's gotta do it.

Out On The Highway

The drunk looking trail behind me...I was trying do dodge an oncoming vehicle.

My Crow Family never seems to mind the Weather...

IMG_2667.JPG

IMG_2670.JPG

Nor does my Duck family. Yes, that is a duck, right there by the duck crossing sign!

IMG_2672.JPG

IMG_2673.JPG

The note I stuck to this pylon earlier in the week is still there! Go sticky notes! Powerful little buggers...

A look at my favourite architecture in the snowfall...

Snow covered dock seaweed looks fantastic!

It even makes the lobster traps look picturesque.

It never snows in my country - so walking with you was like living in a fantasy for a few minutes. It's true that you can find images and videos of snow just by searching on the internet - but this is different. this has a touch of a real life. You know when it happened, and the person walking you through the whole journey. Thank you for sharing such wonderful moments. I really enjoyed it.
here are few glances of how winter looks like in my country :

I'm glad you liked seeing the Winter from my perspective. Your land looks very beautiful too, thank you for sharing!

It was my genuine pleasure 🙂

YES! It's about bloody time you buggers got some snow! 😂
I can't believe we got it before you did however ours has disappeared already and yours looks like it's there to stay for the winter.
I hope we'll see some family snowball fights and giant snowmen in upcoming posts babe. ❤️

You most certainly will. And no, our snow never lasts here, in February it will stick around for a bit, but this will be gone most likely within a couple days. Gotta love living on the coast, never long between warm spells and rains...

...all are in beautiful shape even though they are old.

This describes me. 😁

The walk I have been waiting for....the snow is so beautiful. It is really awesome. I want to see more.

Know what is the best? Watching and enjoy the beautiful snow from Florida. Let someone else get out in the cold and the wind. I have the nice warm sun peeking in through my window while looks at pics of the snow. Now that is how to do it.

I like how the duck followed directions....and I didnt even know they could read. 😉

Your picture is awesome! We live just 2 minutes down the road from Indian Harbour, NS too funny. The weather is way different though :(

We have a nude beach an hour away...

I am not sure one of them works up by you. 😎

Too cold for a nude beach here right now lol.

Indian Harbour Beach eh? The next community after Hacketts Cove is called Indian Harbour, I've tried to walk there a couple times but it's sooooo far! Now I have some motivation!! I'm walking to Indian Harbour very soon just for Task!! :) :) :) Love you Honey!

Start walking south and look for the palm trees.

Love your crows <3 and lobster traps! You have put me to shame, I need to get out in the snow and get walking in the name of #walkwithme! It looks so peaceful there in the snow:)

Well, I don't have -30 to contend with, otherwise I may not be out there :) :)

Hahaha fair enough, that logic makes me feel better! It is -16° today here....practically tropical;)

You should call the poor little black roo Hercules, in his scrawny teenager form, and then sing him songs from the Disney movie so he feels inspired and the other ros respect him as badass. ;)

Omg Impromptu naming SUCCESS!!!! Little Black Roo is now named Hercules!! Thanks from all of us over here @phoenixwren!!! I hope this gives him the confidence he needs :)

Yay! 😁

You are a GOD at chicken naming, A GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(I googled "chicken god" 😁)

Oooh my lord that is sooooo sick hahhaaa!!!

My computer, my camera and my wedding ring, the three things I have that no one else is allowed to touch.

I already knew we were kindred based on some similar ideals, but haha, those are my sacred three as well, no joke!!

Thank you for the vote today, that was a nice surprise!

Aww, I'm glad hearing that I'm not alone!

Your Exclusive Steemit novel sounds AWESOME! Very original idea, I've never read a book like that one before (I feel bad for those poor guys and their 'disability'), and how sweet you're publishing it here!!

The duck is hilarious @lyndsaybowes Great job capturing him right at the duck crossing sign :)

Thanks My Love <3

I love all these pictures, almost more than summer shots. What they remind me of is Currier & Ives on the Coast. ha.. Poor ol Roo, but maybe he loves that alone time and that most important job of watching. The best of all is those really smart ducks. Imagine crossing at the duck crossing. East Coast ducks are the smartest.

I'm glad you enjoyed all the shots, neighbour <3 xoxo

It's really nice to see the neighborhood ducks are so compliant!

Heh heh heh...nice one :) :)

Wow.. It's warmer here where I live.. but usually we have snow 1 or 2 time at winter.

It's funny to see duck in the snow, but the question is: where're the two little ducks in the street sign? Plese you have to try to find them!!!! :D

I will go out right away to find the ducklings!! You have my word :) :)

hahaha... I'm counting on it. :D

That's beautiful

Thank you Davood <3

The duck and the duck crossing. You can't get a better capture than that.

Aw, so glad you enjoyed it David :)

Wow what incredible photos!!!! It's been so long since I frolicked in deep snow!! Haha over twenty years ago at least. Your photos make me miss it. Your duck made me laugh too and the duck sign is just priceless!!!!
Thanks Lyndsay, you are a superstar!

Aw, I hope you can get around to play in some snow again one day! You're always welcome here!

Wow what an awesome invite you angel! I may just drop in... I hear Canada is 90% uninhabited which I find appealing ☺️ @skypilot tells us so with his awesome photography blog .
Here is my Sunday morning without snow, haha.

Sending love to you and your big beautiful family!❤️

Thank you for continuing to add such great content to the #walkwithme tag!

Feel like saying drumroll please....snow has finally arrived. I'm glad you didn't get too much snow. It is beautiful to see but to much of a pain in the ass to function in. @lyndsaybowes another great walkwithme post. That poor chicken sitting on the rock, reminds of when I was a kid and I was sent to the corner alone, lol. That photo when the sun is just peeking through the clouds is an awesome photo. Way to go. Ya'll continue to inspire.

Thanks for enjoying our snow, I know you have your own to deal with and I hope it's a mild winter for you.

Oh, it must be so fun to watch everywhere and everything covered in snow. It doesn't snow in my region and reading it here gives me a kind of feel. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for appreciating @eleaza :)

That pic of the boathouse that looks like b/w except for the dock fenders is terrific. I would frame that one!

Wow, thanks so much for the compliment @Anise!

You're most welcome!

@lyndsaybowes Why you walk? I always want to be there. What a stunning sight! Your note is alive. That is still there. The sun was slowly slowly trying to peek out. You well captured that scene. Last Image of house with tree is looking amazing. Thanks for sharing...I really enjoy your every walk.

Have a good day!

Thank you, I'm really happy that you loved the photos so much @coolbuddy <3 <3 <3

Welcome.... :)

I think snow is like magic and it's a beautiful thing to be seen.

Thanks for sharing this, @lyndsaybowes. ;)

I'm glad you liked it, but I'm freezing! haha!!

I guess I can imagine the reason, haha! :-)

Another fantastically beautiful slice of of #walkwithme your area is becoming a second home for me! I can almost hear the near silence of falling snow. The shots look absolutely stunning and show the whole area in a new light, a white light!! :D But seriously what a chilled and relaxing post, perfect for me to enjoy over a nice cup of tea .. well I am English :D Fingers crossed you get a nice White Christmas, it's looking unlikely here :(

Awww...I didn't know you were English, that's awesome, I hope you enjoyed your tea :) I hope our place is a second home to you, would love to meet you in person one day my incredibly deep friend!!

Well, I'm English with a little Scottish added for good measure :) Likewise my friend that would be amazing, who knows where life takes you and what paths may cross. Until that day I will continue to enjoy your walks and words and promise to load some local walks of my own :D

It's gonna be an epic day of happy dancing when I see you in the tag!!!

I come from the tropics where it never snows and reading your post, I am beginning to get a feel of showtime. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for all your supportive comments!

Those are awesome pictures.. I'm glad you got your turn with the snow.. I gotta admit it makes your pictures look twice as cool... pun intended lol..

Glad to see the chicks stay warm.. we used to leave lights on for ours on cold nights..

Aww, yeah our babes stay nice and warm here in NS. The only thing that really bothers them is freezing rain.

Magnificent nature. Your animals are very funny, and you have the talent to write interesting stories. Good luck to you and good.

Thanks for enjoying my story @cranium :)

What are you? This is a huge thank YOU to you for your amazing sincerity. Now this is a great rarity. Good luck to you and good.

Oh wow, those two buildings are beautiful! They remind me of the Maberry Mill up on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Great snaps ya took!

Thank you so much for appreciating the scenery that I froze for haha!

Absolutely beautiful! It looks just like in a movie. I love snow when I don't need to shovel it. ;-)

It is most interesting and the shacks too.that is great and nice photography.
