Walk With Me Through The Forests Of Truro, Nova Scotia.

The thing I don't like about this time of year is the weather. There isn't any snow to do any real winter activities like skiing, snowshoeing, or sledding, and it's too cold and miserable to do any spring and summer activities. Although it is relaxing having some time off from work and sitting around, I'd much rather have this time off in the summer.

We actually tried that one year. We all planned to have our Christmas in June a few years ago. It was a much more event filled vacation than most December Christmas'. It's a lot harder to plan in the summer because everyone's jobs don't usually line up to accommodate, though. It's easier to all get Christmas off because all the businesses are closed and they expect that is when you will take the time. If I had a choice, I'd take it all in the summer.

Anyway, today was a pretty nice day outside besides the fact that it was -12 deg. There was no wind though, so we decided to get out for a little hike up in Truro where my brother, @thebrassdoor, lives. He told us about a little known walking trail owned by Irving that led down to a little waterfall.

So off we went.

Join us on our walk through the forest of Truro, Nova Scotia.

This first shot is one of the lakes as we drove by on our way from Dartmouth to Truro. Like I said about this time of year, it's frozen but not frozen enough to skate on yet.

The start of the trail.

There were a few more footprints than we thought there would be, but we didn't see anyone on the trail.

The way down to the waterfall.

You know it's been cold when even the waterfalls freeze. I thought it would be a little bigger but it was still a really nice spot.

Coming up on some cool frozen embankments.

It's always cool how this sort of thing forms.

And another panoramic showing both directions of the river.

This is the spot where we turned around and it's also the spot my cellphone died. I think my contract is up because it will not even come close to lasting to the end of the day now. I guess it will soon be time for a new phone. Eventually, I will just get fed up with it dying too fast and go get another one but I'll fight it as long as I can.

Hope you all enjoyed the pictures.

The thing is , the snow is always nice to look at from the inside , but when you’re outside , not so pleasant . We finally got some snow in NYC today too with the temperature at -8 celcius

It was a little cold, but with no wind it was a pretty good walk. It's the wind that really makes the cold unbearable.

Looks cold. But beautiful.

Excellent story @stephen.king9 and also beautiful photography.

This year i lucked out and am in california for our christmas break and its so nice! But these photos are gorgeous, i especially like the color of the blue sky, and the frozen waterfall.
