Why are Some Asset Pairings not available on the Exodus Exchange?

Exodus is a prominent multi-asset cryptocurrency wallet that was released back in 2015, and continues to be regularly updated to this day.
Among its numerous impressive features, Exodus includes support for well over 100 of the most popular cryptocurrencies — the majority of which can also be directly exchanged between one another in the app, without the need to create an account or provide KYC credentials.
Although Exodus supports dozens of different assets with its built-in exchange feature, it is not always possible to convert one cryptocurrency to another. This is because asset A cannot always be exchanged for asset B, even though assets A and B might be available to exchange against other cryptocurrencies.
The reason behind this is quite simple. Since Exodus relies on third-party exchange platforms for its built-in solution, it also relies on the available trading pairs on these exchanges. As such, if none of its partner exchanges have the trading pair you are looking for, Exodus will be unable to offer it through the wallet interface.

Update your Exodus Wallet, most issues occurs by outdated version:

  1. **Download Exodus Wallet last version for Windows**
  2. **Download Exodus Wallet last version for Android**
  3. **Download Exodus Wallet last version for Mac**

Take Gnosis (GNO) for example. As it stands, only one of Exodus’ exchange partners support this cryptocurrency, whereas Polymath (POLY) is only supported by another single exchange. In this case, Gnosis represents asset A and Polymath represents asset B. They cannot be traded since both cryptocurrencies are currently only tradable through two separate exchange partners.
Because of this, if you are looking to trade Gnosis, you will only be able to select from the assets supported by Exodus’ partner exchanges. This goes the same for all the other cryptocurrencies available to trade on Exodus’ internal exchange.

Note that this is a completely different issue than when certain assets are temporarily unavailable to exchange. Exodus will display a temporarily unavailable message for these assets, which means that it is currently undergoing maintenance or changes are being made.
