Jaxx wallet software unreliable?

Folks, I'm about to relate my experience using Jaxx wallet software in case that may be helpful or otherwise of interest to others. Let me say at the outset that I'm a beginner with cryptocurrencies, so the breadth of my knowledge and experience in the crypto space is necessarily limited. I will explain what led me to conclude that the Jaxx wallet software is troublesome to the point of being unreliable.
To start, I opened a Coinbase account for a supply of bitcoin. I work a lot on a desktop PC so I chose to open a Jaxx wallet since they offer a Chrome extension version. I sent some bitcoin from Coinbase to my Jaxx wallet and waited for it to appear. I understood that it can take a while and that's OK, but when it wasn't showing up after a week I contacted Jaxx tech support. They gave me a lot of things to try, including opening the Android version of Jaxx on a mobil device and after another week the correct amount of bitcoin did appear on my Jaxx Chrome extension version.
But then I noticed that the bitcoins hadn’t shown up on the Android version of Jaxx and I reported this to Jaxx tech support. They gave me a number of suggestions, but the Android version of Jaxx continued to report “No transactions.” After a couple of weeks of seeing the bitcoins on one version of Jaxx but not on the other, and Jaxx tech support hadn’t been able to find a solution, I decided that I would have to come up with my own solution to the problem, and that was to use a different wallet software.
I would say this is a serious issue that undermines the trust that cryptocurrencies are supposed to be based on.
Needless to say, I wouldn’t recommend using Jaxx wallet software.
