EOS is confusing enough. So I'm just here to tell you that I have tried two wallets, and they both seem legit.
They both work well, and and fairly simple. Neither wallet shows airdrops on my system yet. Some drops are not converted to EOS platform yet though. I won't link them to avoid any accidents or any issues with versions or releases. Just visit the homepage for the wallets, or their github to get the releases.

It's very simple but still not super intuitive for novice users.
Second is simpleos wallet by EOSRio.
I like this one better. The interface is heavier but is easier for most users I would think.
I don't vouch for either company or wallet. Use them at your own risk. This is just to inform others that I have indeed used them, and they have so far been safe and efficient.
Liam, that is great information, thank you. I have been wondering what wallets are actually being used. Still confused about many thing with EOS, but this helps. Have you seen this airdrop site?
Do you know where the airdrops go? To mew or to the new wallets?
I'm sure many are wondering as well, thanks again!
