Yesterday, as we was in the kitchen three of us as tenant (we are 9 sharing the apartment) preparing something, and Jo, a pilipina, was just waiting for something to finish to cook... Eran asked her what she was cooking. I am just checking if my food is ready... He said, you know 'a watched pot never boils'... It was the first time I heard this phrase or expression. A nice expression, I thought; it is a perfect picture for the subjective perception of duration of time. Jo's face was showing the urgency of take her cooking but it was like taking long time.
I found later that the first to be attributed this expression was Poor Richard (https://www.phrases.org.uk/meanings/watched-pot-never-boils.html) the pseudonym used by Benjamin Franklin when publishing his annual almanac (between 1732 and 1758).
