This morning I drove 50+ miles through the mountains to get spring water at a place named Adobe Springs. On the way, I have always passed an Indian temple, but never stopped. A co-worker mentioned that her husband attends this temple and that it was OK for me to go in. This time I did and snapped a few shots of the Sikh Gurdwara Sahib located in San Jose, California.
Quite impressive architecture, it was almost like I was in India.
The location is in the east foothills of the south bay area, this part of the building is facing the valley which is about 300 ft below. There are some nice views from here.
There was some music playing and I looked in and there was a Sunday morning service.
I went over the top of Mt. Hamilton where there is Lick Observatory which was built some time ago. There are several large telescopes here that are still used today.
It is 4,000 feet above sea level. (I have cycled up here a few times, almost 18 miles of climbing) What you see way in the distance is Silicon Valley/Santa Clara.
At Adobe springs, you just fill up your water containers for free. Commercial trucks need to pay. The Adobe Springs water is high in Magnesium which is good for heart health. There is no taste at all, compared to bottled water where you can sometimes taste various things, sometimes metallic... yuck.
A commercial water truck was filling up while I was there. They drive up from Modesto, the spring is in Patterson.
Paul Mason is the owner and has some literature at the site mentioning how many people are magnesium deficient and the benefits of magnesium.
I even filled up my drinking bottle.

Nice pics and nice post. Is it a desert in the mountains?

That's surprising. That architecture doesn't look American.
