I'm computer engineer and i'm security expert since 2006 like "Information security". So my experience says "all platforms can be hack by someone" There is no safe place in the internet, so how can i avoid ?
i have been since 3 years in crypto-world. First we kicked by MTGOX

and many people lost their money, future and dreams. They didn't recover their money back. It was absolutely bad days for Crypto world. Then what we do ? Someone exit from crypto-world and someone tried to recover their money back with deposits again another exchanges. I'm really worried about exchanges why ? We can't avoid by hackers, local laws, those exchanges companies are centralized If they hacked by someone that means we lost our money!!. And they vanishes.. Why i got kicked if exchange can't defend their self! So who read this post i believe many of them hold their btcs in their wallet. That means we don't trust because of "hacks" or scams!
So we need a another thing which is " decentralized exchanges" why decentralized? Because i care my money and i want to hold in my pocket. If i need to trade my coins, i ll trade however i want.. I think #Waves ll fill this thing if they success in future.
If anyone still who want to continue in crypto world and have to trade please listen carefully and check it
www.wavesplatform.com They create a decentralized exchange, and i believe them. If they will success all traders and crypto world users can use it safely then the other centralized exchanges!
I will use wavesplatform in the future and i'm glad to see they will success. You know why ? If my wallet hacked i'll not cry like now! Because i made mistake and someone grab my money!!! My mistakes and my result! But i'm worry about who lost their money in bitfinex! because they didn't do any mistake! and still no any laws to cover them!
Waves may be a good way to trade on a decentralised exchange in the furure but ...
Why woudl you want to wait until they are done with a beautiful interface and no volume when you can already trade in the decentralised exchange of BitShares ???
You have BitCNY, BitUSD, Gold, silver, ... Altcoins. The platform is very fast and responsiv and works smoothly since october 2015. The volume increase every month a little more !
BitShares IS the best choice you can do nowadays to trade on a decentralised exchange !

hey mate, how long have you been in crypto world ? i really know abot what u want to explain.. I know very well about bitshares. I had also a investor of MUSE and Dac play.. Do you know what they did ? They gone too.. And i lost my money in those projects.. Who support this projects ?? extremely bitshares.. I don't trust bitshares since 2 years.. please take a care about bitshares.. Also they don't have marketcap in the cryptoworld right now.. Think about why ?

well, i don't buy steem or invest it.. I just keep my money in safe.. that's why i post it.. Everyone take care about bitfinex and centralized exchanges..

Steemit runs on the Graphene toolkit, this tech has been develop when creating BitShares 2.0. You like and trust Steem ? Well BitShares is made of the same wood. Its focus is not on social network but on economy and a decentralised exchange. You can't really trust one but not the other ;)
BTW, MUSE also run on the same tech and even if at the moment the dev are silent, I read recently a comment from Xerox that the project is very much alive. Xeroc always knows a lot of what is happenning behind the scenes.
BitShares market cap will rise as it's value derives from it's usecases. No hype pump for BitShares, just solid growth base on solid facts.

it's about people won't lost money in the exchanges, steemit isn't exchange project. Why am i not here ? and check MUSE and Dac play carefully. So you will understand why i m worry about it.

Steemit has an internal exchange even if it's not its main activity.
DacPlay looks like they give up but MUSE is not dead, just evolving quietly behind the scenes.
Anyway, as you didn't invest in these project, you have anything to worry about. I'm sure the actual investors have evaluate carefully the risks in relation to their investments ;)

I would say the main problem of any decentralised exchange is the actual volume exchanged.

Bitsquare is proba ly very low
BitShares is taking off with decent and increasing volume. I'm not even speaking about the 3 sec confirmation block ... This is crazy fast for a blockchain !
