I'm so glad to be in the United Arab Emirates right now. I do not miss the cold.

I went back to UK last summer, I was cold at 18 degrees.

LOL! Just been out with the dogs. -15°C Actually, I don't mind the cold (as long as I am dressed for it). It's the wet I can't stand. Normally, here in France, we get rain, but not constant like it can do in UK. This winter we have had a lot of rain, though. So a nice clear, sunny -15°C makes a nice change! :)

It's 56 degrees out right now but it was over 70 earlier today. What's a jumper?

A thing like a sweatshirt, but knitted out of wool (sweater?). Must be a uk english term:

Cold in the Morvan too. First thing this morning -9° C. with wind chill -17° C Sunny now and warmed up to -4° C. cold again tomorrow. For someone who lived in California for 22 years I still find it hard to adapt to the cold weather. As a child in England I do remember the 1962-1963 winter, no fun using the outside loo that winter. Well I guess its time to throw another log on the wood burner, stay warm everyone.

6 years ago we had the "vague de froid". We had a mild winter and then the first of Feb it snowed. The following day the temperature plummeted. For two weeks it didn't get above -15 during the day (-25 at night)!

I remember that winter I had frozen water pipes even though they where under ground.

Climate change is playing havoc across the globe. It is becoming a very seriuos problem.

Agreed. Although it used to be colder here. Older people remember when it used to regularly get to -30 c.
