We live in a golden age of disinformation. “Before the age of the internet, you couldn’t sit in your attic and create conspiracy theories on a massive scale,” writes Luca de Alfaro, a computer scientist at the University of California, Santa Cruz. But with social media, it's all too easy to generate, distribute, and trade viral information.
Most Internet users are unintentionally broadcasting misinformation. Information overload and limited coverage of the entire news segment does not encourage thorough fact checking. Well, the personal preferences of users play a role.
“When it comes to unfiltered information, people are likely to choose the one that matches their own thinking, even if this information is incorrect,” said Fabiana Zollo, a computer scientist at Ca’ Foscari University in Venice. She studies the process of dissemination of information in social networks.
Intentional or not, the transmission of disinformation has serious consequences.
To sort fake news from the truth, programmers are building automated systems that check the veracity of online information. The computer program considers some of the characteristics of the article or the way it penetrates social networks. Computers that read certain signs alert people doing the final check. But automated tools for finding falsified information are "still in their infancy," says bioscientist Giovanni Luca Ciampaglia of Indiana University Bloomington.
But teams around the world are moving forward on this issue. And more and more often new projects appear that are aimed at collecting information and evaluating it according to various criteria. NLP is an artificial intelligence module that will work with unstructured text. The artificial intelligence module will allow you to recognize objects in the text, extract sentences, facts, compare them with each other and perform similarity checks. Such an approach will make the joint work of participants and AI more efficient, will allow tracking relevant and fresh information received by the network, and form a more objective opinion.
As we said, the Exorde protocol will be managed by participants from all over the world who participate in the ecosystem economically or technically. The Exorde protocol is governed by EXD token holders.
