For those who don't watch much TV or play video games, from left to right the costumes are: Cam as Malcolm Reynolds from 'Firefly', Dan as Bill Foster/'D-Fens' from 'Falling Down', Ash as Gordon Freeman from the 'Half-Life' games, Pete as Jon Snow from 'Game of Thrones', and Jen as Xena from 'Xena: Warrior Princess'.

Last year's Halloween strip was the first one I published in color. While I've made small tweaks with hair and skin tone since then, I've largely been happy with the first attempt. It did take some extra time at first (which is why I didn't permanently move to color strips until a couple months later), but with some practice I found the groove that allowed me to do it more efficiently.

I'm not huge into wearing costumes on Halloween, but one of the few costumes I ever wanted to try was the 'D-Fens' outfit from 'Falling Down' at the defense contractor where I worked. But between having to color all my hair grey, having to wear glasses and a tie all day, and especially the possibility some hyper-politically-correct nitwit (and there were several) would read too much into it and report it to security, I ultimately decided against it. I suppose it's a bit of a lost opportunity, but then again there will be no shortage of other opportunities to make people laugh or feel slightly uncomfortable. ;)

I loved Half Life. Probably the last game that I seriously played, apart from some Wii games with the kids. I also remember Xena, but then I also watched the old Wonder Woman on TV.

I was way too little to remember the original Wonder Woman when it was on in the 70's, though I do remember as a kid seeing occasional reruns of it along with Buck Rogers, the original Battlestar Galactica, and the Six Million Dollar man at my grandparents' house in the 80's.

As for you being a Half-Life fan, all I will say is just stay tuned for a treat starting in about two weeks!
