I'm going to deviate from fantasy today and bring to light something many of you already know.
Superheros are fun
With the advent of Batman Begins superheroes reentered the spotlight. Thankfully, many authors took the basic premise and did something different with them. Drew Hayes is one of them.
Super Powereds follows the college years of a group of fortunate unfortunates that has the poor luck of being born without conscious control of their powers. They undergo an experimental procedure designed to give them that control, and get sent off to college and training to get their hero licenses.
Simple plot right? Well, not everyone has powers. There are normals that don't have any powers and are right pissed about those who do. There are powered and supers that believe they are the future and form terrorist groups. There's a conspiracy, coming of age drama, and of course there's grades to worry about.
