GEAFUS
I had the idea to create a weed leaf emoji character and I pursued it.
Looking back, sometimes I wonder how the hell did I create this? But how I am, I go through creative cycles where I will have an idea that just starts a fire inside that wont out until the mission is complete. I learn new skills and hustle my ass off till its' done. Geafus was no different. I originally created Geafus for Line messenger. I had to teach myself how to illustrate as I was never trained or versed in it. ( I doodled a bit, but nothing serious as you can see.) I subsequently released Geafus 2 and Geafus animated on Line messenger.
When Line messenger started allowing animated stickers on their network, I took the time to learn how to animate using adobe illustrator ( creating the many frames for each emoji) and then using an app called Animation image convertor to covert the files from PNG to APNG. IT TOOK MANY NIGHTS as I do have a day job. When I was in the process of making Geafus animated 2 I got a little cocky and created some really ganja-rific emojis that didn't hide the fact that THIS WAS A WEED EMOJI. You see, I was below the radar with the first 3 Geafus emojis. I basically said in the description that it was a " maple leaf". The reason I did that, well I knew Line would not approve it if I blatantly stated it was a weed emoji.
Geafus animated 2 was rejected and LINE sent me a very stern warning. Luckily, they did not pull the previous emoji sets.That is when I decided to take Geafus to the app store. That way, I could create ganja-rific animated emojis without restrictions.
