As you know, Snoop Dogg has been an avid #Cannabis supporter since the beginning of his career and probably long time before, so in 2016 he decided to enter cannabis-related show business.

He joined Mary + Jane' team as a producer, and penned the show’s theme song. Snoop said:

The story is so on point, I have delivery girls just like them, I’m like That’s good business! Because we keep buying! The writing is about right now. And it’s beautiful that we can have women on this show that is so ahead of the curve.

Mary + Jane / 2016, MTV, 1 Season, 20 minutes / episode

It is a #Marijuana MTV Comedy that premiered on September 5, 2016. The stars are Scout Durwood and Jessica Rothe, and the show is produced by rapper Snoop Dogg, Deborah Kaplan, and Harry Elfont. The show’s stars are admittedly newbies to this weed expertise.

Durwood grew up in Kansas City, so moving to Los Angeles, "It was like going from grain alcohol to wine", she said.

Rothe said: "But now I’ve been home, and I’ve been to these dispensaries, and I walk in and it’s completely legal. The vernacular and the amount of information you can find is amazing."

Rothe brings up a point aside from the feminist assumptions that make Mary + Jane work, specifically the very real medical and real-world benefits that we’re so used to waving away, or rolling our eyes about. There’s much more to weed than just getting high and eating Oreos over cat videos on YouTube. "There are even suppositories," Kaplan Said.

#Weed is used to treat everything from cramps to sexual dysfunction, and those are conversations that can’t happen as long as the stigma remains, or merely sound like fast-talk from stoners.

Mary + Jane / Plot & Rating

• Jordan & Paige are roommates in LA working their way into an all-female weed delivery business, but of course there are numerous obstacles on their path to success.

• MTV cancelled the show on February 9, 2017 after one season as the ratings didn’t satisfy them, but I hope you give it a chance and check it out as to be honest I believe Snoop and the stars did great job.

• Both of the main actors have comedic talent, and the writing is good. It's fast paced and some of the humor is subtle. I think they were going for funny, quirky and happy, what you think!
