The turning point: I've been overweight for as long as I can remember, and it's had a negative impact on my self-esteem. It was incredibly difficult for me to go out and socialize because of occurrences of body shaming. In fact, I was reluctant to leave the house because I was so self-conscious about my appearance.
I didn't want to wear western clothes because I thought they made me look terrible, and I detested having my picture taken. I'd had enough of hiding and was determined to do something to reduce weight and get back into shape.
Before Breakfast:

My breakfast consists of one packed chapati with either tea or coffee that is devoid of sugar or stevia. The secret to my weight reduction is that I make sure I get my daily dosage of nourishment in the form of cooking spices.

Supper: I have two wheat chapatis with any veggie curry of my choosing for dinner. On occasion, I'll have two idlis, a bowl of sambar, and a large bowl of vegetable curry for supper.
I indulge in: Every 15 days, I have a cheat day during which I eat anything I want without feeling guilty or regretful.
My Exercise Routine: I didn't have time to go to the gym or exercise because I was a mother and a working woman. I've debunked the idea that "you can't lose weight unless you exercise." I focused on eating well and cooking with mustard oil or ghee.
I've discovered that going back to your roots, i.e. eating what our fathers and grandmothers ate, is the simplest method to lose weight.

How can I keep myself motivated? When I was sick, there was a lot that dragged me down. All of the uninvited remarks, trolling, and criticism served as my primary incentive to lose weight and become in shape. Those occurrences are still fresh in my mind, and I have no desire to return there.
