Many people are overweight, and the majority of them know that being overweight is detrimental to their health. Often, their family and friends and even their health specialists advised them to reduce weight, but they have difficulty in doing it. They have tried different diets and simply cannot stick to them. The first step to dieting is to avoid foods that contribute to the accumulation of fats in the body.
- Salty foods
Salt consumption is linked to hypertension, heart attacks, blood clots, and gastric cancer. While you have low blood pressure at the moment, many will eventually develop high blood pressure from excessive sodium intake earlier in life. Once the blood pressure is high, it is not easy to bring it down by simply removing salt. Others wind up on medications to reduce the sodium level in the body. Other than affecting blood pressure, salt likewise causes trace minerals and calcium to be leached from the body, which is a contributing factor to the development of osteoporosis. This is because, as the excess salt is eliminated through the urine, other minerals, including magnesium and calcium, accompany it and are lost as well.
- Foods rich in saturated fat
Just as consuming high salt will cause the development of increased blood pressure, the high saturated fat content in the diet will eventually cause cause increased levels of blood cholesterol, which can then be deposited in plague on blood vessels. As this happens, this results in cardiovascular disease, depression of the immune system, and increased risk of cancer.
- Red meat
Red meat contains more trans fat and saturated fat compared to other animal products, and thus, are poor food choices when dieting. According to some scientific studies, red meat has a pronounced association with pancreatic cancer and colon cancer. Red meat also contains high "haem", an iron-carrying protein that has been shown to have destructive impacts on the cells lining the digestive tract.
- Dairy
Dairy is he food category that has the greatest contribution to saturated fat. Cheese consumption has skyrocketed in the past, and at present, butter and cheese contribute the major load of artery-clogging saturated fat to the diet. Hence, dairy must only be considered on special occasion foods only and rarely consumed.
- Processed foods
Processed foods are rich in trans fats. They are modified-vegetable derived fats that may be even worse compared to animal-derived saturated fats. Processed foods usually include crackers, cookers, frozen foods, snacks, and cakes. Most enticing fried foods and desserts contain trans fat, even if they contain no cholesterol and no animal products.
6.Caffeine
Caffeine is considered to be among the many addictive elements in a regular diet. Some research studies signify that increased coffee intake and consumption of other caffeinated drinks may pose dangers to the health. In addition, coffee can increase the risk of heart disease and osteoporosis. It also allows you to stay awake for longer periods. Inadequate sleep, in turn, causes premature aging and other diseases.
- Sweets
Sugar has a priming effect on the body. By consuming something sugary, the body also will want more sugar. While this is great for the food industry, it is disastrous for the belly. Sugar is also linked to emotional distress and hyperactivity. More importantly, sugar is the leading cause of diabetes.
Conclusion
All the seven foods mentioned in this article must be avoided for a healthier and longer life. Moreover, by eliminating these foods, dieting is accomplished at an easier and faster rate.
I'd agree with this article, which is rare for the articles I've seen in #health (!)
I'd like to add though you can't escape the diary by getting fat-free as there are also hormones in Dairy that, well, a baby cow is supposed to grow into a big strong cow in no time.
What do you think those hormones in their tell YOUR body to do? GROW, be it fat, muscle, mostly fat, really anything, it wants you to gain weight like it wants a baby cow to gain weight.
