Before I start any project I need to have a plan. Unlike #noloafingmoney I'm not going to take a course or find a PT to provide me a framework, instead I'm going to start on my own; sort of.
A couple of goalposts
The most important thing to me is likely going to change as I go through this project. The first goal post is just to stop gaining weight, then start losing weight. For right now that's it. Losing weight is easy, I just have to eat less and maybe move more. Of course if it was easy in practice everyone would do it.
Stop gaining
My first step is to figure out what I'm eating. Obviously I'm eating more than I need for the amount I'm moving on average.
To figure this out I've started using MyFitnessPal to track what I'm eating while changing my eating habits as little as possible. From there I will start cutting out any obvious low hanging fruit. Then its time to start following a plan.
Start Losing
I plan to use two different calculators to figure out my overall macros, the JSA macro calculator to figure out the amount of protein I need and then the Keto Calculator to figure out the rest (assuming something like 100-150g Carbs) and get a idea of a fat-loss projection.
I like low carb/keto eating. It helps me manage hunger, and in general I don't miss the wheat.
This plan isn't very detailed ... yet. In my next post I will outline my starting point with all the information from JSA and Keto-Calculator. It will also include some details.
I don't know how often I will update on this front, but probably about once a week, similar to the #noloafingmoney project. This is going to be called #noloafingloseit, so if you use a frontend that allows to you favorite topics you can follow along without missing a thing.
