David West, the NBA champion of the last two seasons with the Golden State Warriors, has retired from the NBA after 15 seasons.
"I was lucky enough to live my childhood dream of playing in the professional league," West, who celebrated his 38th birthday on Wednesday, wrote in his calculations on social networking sites: "After 15 seasons, I decided to retire from basketball."
