View to the North
This view is from Nikiski Beach Taken on 9-26-2018. While it was a somewhat overcast sky as you can see looking north is pretty much cloud free. It was a great visibility day, and something that most people very rarely get a view of.
In the distance barely viewable in the photograph, but very viewable with the naked eye is Mt Foraker and Denali Mountain, (previously Mount McKinley).
Mount Foraker is a 17,400-foot mountain in the central Alaska Range, in Denali National Park, and Denali is the highest mountain peak in North America, with a summit elevation of 20,310 feet above sea level.
That view there is a 165 mile long view. That is the air miles between Nikiski and Denali Mountain. I don't know how far you can see on a clear day, but in Alaska from Nikiski on a clear day if the clouds are just right and it is a clear day up north also, you can sometimes see those mountains, little white bumps on the distant horizon.
I hope you enjoyed my #wetwednesday, view to the north.
