And so suddenly, occasionally ... you are asked to do a photo shoot of a family. A family that you do not know at all. But from the moment you become acquainted, you close those people in your heart. And this photo comes from such a shoot.
What was that heartwarming. What a very sweet family.
When I came home after the shoot, and uploaded the photo's, this photo grabbed me. Lived a lifetime. His face radiates peace. I know that he is a dementia, but what does he think? What does he feel? He is loved by his family, safely surrounded by his family. And he seems so far away with his thoughts!
Does he consciously communicate what is happening now? Or is he somewhere else with his thoughts? So fragile! So vulnerable, and yet ... so incredibly strong!

And see who I was
I'm still there
I am still, who I always was
I may not know anymore
But I still feel the love
That we always have shared
It was deeply settled in me, before
