b̶l̶a̶c̶k̶ ̶t̶w̶i̶t̶t̶e̶r̶ Black Steemit!? Are platforms like steemit destined to be segmented?

Is #BlackSteem on the way? a creative, passionate and
awesome community much like their counter part...

#BlackTwitter, a community some credit with keeping twitter relevant.

Are platforms like this bound to be segmented?

With a weekend of coding, we could actually build a tool to analyze the performance
of women authors vs male authors, black vs white etc, if regions became a setting
that as well.

This means each segment would have a whale or whales who mostly supports
content from her/her segment.

This also puts the platform in a race against itself to bring on board diverse
segments while preventing data that shows segmented rewards while creating
diverse whales.

Would a whale be comfortable IF the data proves him to be sexiest with his rewards?

There's real life anonymity but there's no platform anonymity...

what do you think?

With this site still being in its infancy, I see a real opportunity to do things right. We are shaping this steemit world, I hope we can shape it to be inclusive so all groups can share. I'd like to see people brought together by common interests instead of race, gender, sexual orientation, or religion.

I think that we should always try to avoid things like this. Having a "black steemit" would just take ideas that should be heard by all people and keep them there. We should find ways to be more inclusive of each other rather than dividing us every time.

That sort of group branding is eventual... no different that the group branding 'whales'
and the current data available on whales. Next folks would do data on whales vs women authors
etc. So it already started segmenting, this group vs everyone else.

You are right on that point but do you think that we should encourage it or strive to keep us together? After all being a whale doesn't mean you are smarter or better than a minnow or the opposite for the minnow but they still need each other. Without the minnow the whale is irrelevant and the reversed is true

Why you have to make another black when there already have steemit , then I should Chinese steemit then . We all like potatoes , different shape and colours but when you peel off the skin we all same .

it's a #hashtag... not saying to build another steemit

I'm a big fan of Blackcoin - superb wallet design!

I'd prefer if there was a platform that didn't divide people's ideas by arbitrary markers. I want to read everyone's ideas and for them to be categorized by topic, like most of them are now.
