Jakarta - WhatsApp will block users aged less than 16 years. This rule they will apply in Europe.

Why Europe? This is because the EU imposed a new data privacy rule on 25 May. And this new rule makes WhatsApp move quickly by updating its privacy policy, one of which is the minimum age

So, when there are users in Europe who are logged into the app, they will be asked their age at the term of service agreement (TOS), complete with the updated WhatsApp privacy policy.

In addition to the matter of minimum age, WhatsApp now also allows users to download copies of their data in the Facebook application, such as contacts and numbers that have been blocked before.

While Facebook applies different rules related to changes in the rules of this European data privacy. They will now ask teens ages 13 to 15 to show permission from their parents to share personal information on the platform.

If they can not show permission from their parents, they can only access the generic version of Facebook, alias without customization of their data-based information.

But keep in mind, outside Europe, the minimum age to use WhatsApp remains 13 years, as quoted from The Verge, Wednesday (25/4/2018).
