Ah, Saturday,... A time to relax, and a time to take our time.
Looking around my whiskycase, I found that I had three different whiskies which where wine barrel aged (although the Bruichladdich classic laddie only partly so). So I decided to compare the three side by side and decide on which is best.
The Teeling Single grain (46ABV) came out on the bottom.
The Arran Amarone cask finish (50% ABV) (a type of Italian red wine) is quite good, but to my taste somewhat on the sweet side.
The Bruichladdich classic laddie (50%ABV), is the best to my taste.
Comparing whiskies side by side is always a great experience, since it allows you to compare notes, and more clearly identify exactly what you like and don't like in a certain whisky (or other drinks).
