Feis Ile Festival takes place on Isle of Islay in the end of May welcoming whisky fans from the entire world. Once a year for only one week quiet secluded life of 3000 inhabitants turns into a seething cauldron!
Thousands of people arrive to Islay to celebrate whisky, Islay’s culture, to visit distilleries, to drink and chat together - well, to do all that whisky can unite!

The Feis Ile appeared originally as part of the Drama Festival local Mod and was barely connected to whisky. The Island needed a boost of development, so local authorities started to organise different events to attract visitors.
However, Distilleries being the major economic forth of the Isle could not stay aside. The first whisky nosing event took place in 1990 that resulted in closer collaboration with the distilleries. In 2000 the Distilleries became even more involved and introduced their special Open Days and ultimately their Special Feis Ile Whisky.
Nowadays, this is the biggest and the most famous Malt Festival in the world. All information about it you can find here. The program of the Festival offers attractions for everybody. Festival is built around Celtic culture and whisky. You always have plenty of opportunities to learn local dances, to drink ale and to chat a lot.
Whisky program unites all Distilleries, each holds its Open Day and celebrates it with the special bottles and releases. There is no need to say that these releases are all to grab if you are a real whisky lover!
If you come to Feis Ile, guys, prepare to leave all your stress on Mainland, because when you put your feet on Islay lands - you suddenly turn into a happy human being who enjoys life in its every moment. And that is the real Islay's magic.
