It's incredible how easily white liberals identify racism in others while completely overlooking it in themselves.
Example?
Liberals frequently (and correctly) identify terms like 'Welfare Queen' as racially charged coded language.
But then they turn around and use terms like 'Developed Country' as the cornerstone talking point of their gun-control argument.
I'm sure you've heard it:
"This sort of thing doesn't happen in other countries. We're the only developed country in the world with so much gun violence."
What's a "developed" country? Well, it's Western Europe and a handful of majority white countries like Canada and Australia.
Essentially, the argument is saying that the only countries that matter are a few lily white countries. Those are the "civilized, developed" countries with which we share meaningful similarities.
Nevermind that, in terms of demographics and diversity, the United States shares far more with nations with similar histories of colonialism and immigration like Venezuela, Brazil, or Argentina.
Those (nations filled with Brown people) aren't "developed" enough for white liberal sensibilities. Nah the only country IN THE ENTIRE WESTERN HAMPSHIRE THAT MATTERS is Canada... you know, the other majority white country. Let's compare US Gun statistics to Canada because none of the others matter.
Incidentally, Canada is one of only two countries in this entire hemisphere (Chile) with lower gun crime rates than the United States. But it would be silly to compare the US to any other "lesser" nation regardless of demographic and historical similarities.
I call it #newspeakliberal immunity
