Various Helichrysum species, also known as Everlastings, are very common in the area because they are drought-resistant and I can't identify this one although it is similar to another kind known as "Poprose" in Afrikaans, which translates to Doll Roses, a reference to the size of the flowers.

Helichrysum also belong to the Asteraceae family which are all daisy-type flowers although instead of petals, they have little scale-leaves, known as bracts and the hard bracts stop the flowers from wilting. If seed is formed, the normal dandelion-type of seeds are made.

I like the variation of pink, yellow and dark orange centres in the florets, this trio of colours is found in quite a few Helichrysum species

Cute "doll roses".

Another big favourite of mine

Beautiful!
For some reason, all the wild flowers are very photogenic !!!

I do my best with the camera. Many of them are very small and need to be studied

Yes, difficult - but beautiful!
The main excellent result!

I like the neat vertical stems all close to each other and the flower reminds me of lantana.

Fortunately it isn't lantana although there is enough of that particular pest around

Interesting flowers. I always thought that in Africa there is almost no greenery and the earth is scorched by the sun. It turns out I was wrong. It is always nice to learn everything first-hand, from the people who live there.

Our greenery is only around for a few months of the year
