The Magpie is one of the noisiest garden bird. These are not the nicest of birds although they do have great looking feathers especially the long tail feathers.
Commonly seen harassing other smaller birds such as the Blackbird or Thrush. Magpies will take eggs or baby chicks.
I've also seen them harassing the local Red Kites and large Sea Gulls. I've had these birds steal very large goldfish from my pond
Magpies build large nests with a roof made of twigs. I assume its protection against attack from crows. They usually lay large clutches of eggs. I've actually seen a clutch of 13 eggs in one nest
