Lustau East India Solera Sherry

in wine •  7 years ago  (edited)

Excellent combination of Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez! Dark, thick, medium sweet. Dried figs, coffee, prunes, apricot kernel, candied orange peel ... 20% vol.
Perfect as a digestive or just in cool weather with fruits and nuts.
During the preparation, the aged Oloroso and the aged Pedro Ximenez are mixed, after which they are again kept in barrels.
My Rating: 4.2 / 5.0

Wow; this is interesting. I haven't had a sherry and I only hear about it when people are looking for to to cook with.

I'm going to have to move a sherry up my list of things to try. This one looks pretty interesting: raisins and creme brulee!
