Wireless video adapter: Microsoft has released its own version of Chromecast

If you always miss an easy way to connect your PC or other Windows 10 device to your TV, be aware that your chance to solve this problem may be coming soon. That's because Microsoft has just launched the Wireless Display Adapter, a broadcast device that connects your television to mobile devices without the need for apps or WiFi connection, with the help of Miracast transmission technology.

Does the idea sound familiar? Well, not for nothing. The device itself works incredibly similar to Chromecast; In fact, a lot are even calling the "Chromecast from Microsoft" device. It's not as if it does not have its advantages, however: as the video below shows well, the accessory is much smaller and more discreet, for example.

Using it, in turn, is incredibly simple. After connecting the Wireless Display Adapter to an HDMI input and a USB port, simply connect to the device so that your TV is recognized as a new monitor. From there, you can use the TV as you normally would with a second screen, either by expanding your Desktop or by mirroring what is displayed. The accessory range, worth noting, is up to 7 meters.

For those interested in purchasing a Wireless Display Adapter, it is possible to purchase it through the Microsoft Store.
