Bible study: "See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise", Ephesians 5:15

The letter to the Ephesians explains how the behavior of the Christian life should be: "See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil.", Ephesians 5:15
Living wisely is living in imitation of Jesus: "Follow God's example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.", Ephesians 5:1-2
Following God's example means living according to the Golden rule, the spiritual gift of righteousness: "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you", Matthew 7:12; the blessed life is to always act according to ethical principles, and as Aristoteles says, the blessed life is the good, beautiful, sensible and happy life.
About the fools, the apostle expresses: "They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts. Having lost all sensitivity, they have given themselves over to sensuality so as to indulge in every kind of impurity, and they are full of greed.", Ephesians 4:17-19

Paul in his epistle is taking up the teaching of Psalm 1, the psalm of the two ways, good and evil are ethical solutions:
"Blessed is the one
who does not walk in step with the wicked
or stand in the way that sinners take
or sit in the company of mockers,
but whose delight is in the law of the Lord,
and who meditates on his law day and night.
That person is like a tree planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither-
whatever they do prospers.
Not so the wicked!
They are like chaff
that the wind blows away.
Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,
nor sinners in the asembly of the righteous.
For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous,
but the way of the wicked leads to destruction". Psalm 1
Paul also points out that we live in bad times, that is, in times where murders, robberies, wars abound as a consequence of deception and lies that are imposed in a world given over to sin. Taking advantage of time means using time wisely, using it in things that are beneficial for the body and mind, always keeping in mind that everything is for the glory of God.
