Crafty Fridays - A spell jar to transmute bad energy into good energy

So I'm pretty sure every witch (and even a few non-witches) know the feeling of a space getting so gunked up with bad energy from any number of sources - curse casting, arguments with people who live in the same space or visitors, or just general day-to-day energy that builds up from being alive.

This spell jar is meant to help with that by taking all of that bad energy and funneling it through two simple ingredients to make it into positive, usable energy for your daily needs. Those two ingredients? Honey and salt.

Salt is very widely considered a universal purification ingredient, among other things. And while honey has many associations, in my personal craft I also associate it with purification and transformation. By combining the two and adding in the most important ingredient of the intention of what I mentioned earlier, the spell jar becomes active. I also programmed in a bit of extra intention that it should take some of that positive energy for itself as a sort of battery backup so it can keep functioning if other charging methods are not available such as sunlight.

I felt a clear glass jar was necessary because the energy is meant to filter through and not be stopped by darker colored glass. The seal on the top is more for containing the contents in case it topples over - something that happens often since we have cats who like to get up onto things. I used an unscented beeswax candle that usually just ends up smelling faintly of honey anyway XD

Right now this jar is sitting on the window sill next to my desk where hopefully sun and moonlight will take care of most of charging it. Since I spend most of my time at my desk these days I feel that's where it will be the most useful as time passes. It'll probably stay on or near my desk as we move and such for the same reason.

And believe me, this isn't anything fancy. The honey is just the store-bought, over processed stuff we had for cooking where it didn't matter because the cooking process would have taken out most of the benefits of raw or local honey, and the salt is literally an $8 big bag of salt that's mostly meant for putting in water filters to soften water if you've got hard water. The candles were melted down from thrift store stuff, and the jar cost me $1 at a craft store.

Witchcraft doesn't have to be fancy or big. Sometimes it's the little things that can be exactly what you need on any given day :)

I'm so happy to see a fellow witch here! I had no idea there was even a witchcraft tag until just now!!! (I'm still newish here)
I'm going to have to do this. I recently moved and found a ton of old jars that I need to repurpose. This looks like one of them.
It'll also be a good alter piece for a while, I'm hoping.
Thanks for sharing! Followed (:

Thank you! There do appear to be a few witches floating around so if you hit up the tag you'll probably find more honestly ^^

I'm so glad you like this. It's a simple and easy one that doesn't take much to put together and it probably would do nicely on an altar :)

Thank you for following, it's been my pleasure to share :D
