I decided to make glamour magic/spells the topic this week because I was actually just doing some this morning because I knew I was in for a rough one with a whole bunch of stuff that was going on and I am NOT a morning person at all XD
So the idea of a glamour spell is to make yourself appear as something else to other people. I know a lot of trans folks who use glamour magic to appear more like their chosen gender, for example. Glamour can also hide you - there's plenty out there for women who need to be more invisible walking home at night in bad areas and the like.
The best part is, glamour doesn't have to be complicated.
For my own I use some nerdy lip glosses and the kind of scented oils you put a few drops on your wrist and rub together. I charge them by writing my intention on a piece of paper, placing the item on top of the paper, and placing them somewhere they can get lots of sunlight like our current office window that gets a lot of light in the late afternoon when the sun starts to set. I recharge the spells once a month just to keep them in working order.
The lip gloss has 3 kinds that I like;
Dragonborn - charged so that when I speak I sound louder than I am (I'm kind of soft unless I'm angry/yelling) and people will actually pay attention to me
The Rose of Sithis and The Dark Brotherhood - enchanted so that when I speak I sound more intimidating than I actually am
And the oils;
Dwarven Ale and Mountain Halls - smells like rugged dwarves, and is enchanted to remind me that I may be short and stocky but so are they and my favorite dwarf of all time (Ayla, my Aeducan Warden from Dragon Age Origins) started at the top, went down to being left for dead, and rose to the challenge of saving the world and so can I.
Queen of the Seas - this one was specifically made for Isabela from Dragon Age 2 to be a scent she'd probably like/smell like/ect. She is an amazing character and a strong woman, and I enchanted this to give me that same kind of confidence she just exudes.
Rogue - from Black Phoenix Alchemy Labs, a mix of all the things that smell like a rogue from leather to rope. I spelled this one up to make me sneakier, so I typically wear it when I want to cloak myself for any reason.
You can also enchant other forms of makeup such as eye shadow and foundation to your own desires. And not just makeup or things of that sort, physical items can also be enchanted. This morning I went out all kinds of decked with magic.
I was wearing a combo of Dragonborn and The Rose of Sithis for my lip gloss, and some Queen of the Seas as my wrist oil. I had on a bracelet enchanted so that people wouldn't notice my flaws as clearly as might otherwise be visible, a necklace to make me feel warm and safe as a way to calm my anxiety over the whole ordeal, and a pair of rings to calm my hands so that I wouldn't make excessive gestures or fidget as I do when I get anxious.
Even my clothes were enchanted! Before I toss the laundry pods in to wash my clothes I say a general glamour blessing over it so that my clothes will help me exude confidence as well since that's a problem I have quite a bit. Glamour in my shower too - shampoo, conditioner, and soap to help hide my flaws so they aren't as noticeable and I'm not as self-conscious about them too.
Glamour is an easy way to fill your day with magic. Like I said it doesn't take much, you can charge them any way you like and they don't take a lot of effort or energy. So go out, and make your day more magical with a bit of glamour if that's a thing you'd want to do in your craft!
