My Contributions to the STEEM Network This Week

It was a wild and wonderful week for myself with a plethora of great news flowing down the pipeline. I finally got my witness node running after having a bit of a hiccup updating to 0.14.2 which caused me to miss the first block I was ever called for... But things are running smoothly now and I'm confident I've got the situation sorted out now. STEEM has been in hyper evolution with the STEEM v0.14.2 hardfork being implemented. I formally launched my witness campaign roughly 5 days ago and in that time have managed reach #65 already on witness list as well as accomplish the following:

- Set up the steem.global News / Seed node

As part of my witness campaign I set up a STEEM seed node at steem.global:2001 which I've also started building a news site, information resource and web shop on top of. Still very much under construction

(Rebuilding the seed node today to run v0.14.2 in order to keep up with network changes)

- Written the Backbone for Instructions to the steemd API RPC

One of the things needed in order to get Coinpayments.net was better written API documentation. I made a post to the community stating the need for proper API documentation and was met with amazing response. More concentrated efforts are going on now by many others to build repositories for proper documentation of the STEEM network. Great work STEEM Team!

- Confirmation of Coinpayments.net Starting to Implement SBD /STEEM

For the past 3 weeks or so I've been acting as a STEEM ambassador maintaining close contact with Coinpayments.net's administrator as I collected the information they needed in order to begin the implementation of SBD as well as STEEM into their payment gateway system.

As of today the fee to get SBD listed on Coinpayments.net has been paid! I've still got to collect a few users pledge funds in order to get the STEEM token listed as well but overall this is a massive step forward!

Future Outlook

While only a handful of people around the world are running STEEM nodes and the core development team may be tiny in comparison to some of the larger software companies out there, the biggest difference between us and them is that we're an ever evolving & expanding collective consciousness of some of the best and brightest people in the world motivated not by our own success but by the success of the STEEM Network.

The work I am doing here for STEEM is to help alleviate the pains of currency adoption and will ultimately help our network grow and prosper in the future as it starts to creep into the main stream.

We as a community are incredibly loud & powerful, but that does not mean that your voice goes unheard here. All it takes is one person to take initiative to change the world and the rest will fit into place when it's ready. Do not fear the low market prices, the trolls, the haters or the "competition". STEEM as a whole has just begun!
