What is STEEM witness?

A witness is a person( or organization ) who manages witness server which produces blocks and updates price feed to the network. Without a witness, Steemit will not function, so in order to have a reliable network, you should vote for the witness.
Every person has 30 votes to make.

Why is important to vote for the witness?

Witnesses are paid after producing the block.
First top 20 witnesses produce block every 60 seconds and one witness from other ranks is selected for backup depends on the rank.

This is why position is so important in order to maintain a witness server witnesses relay of producing blocks

Some of the new witnesses don't go break even and pay more than produce. STEM blockchain demands for hardware is increasing rapidly and the only way to survive is you to give votes not only to top 20 witnesses but for others as well. Be sure to check it out and give your votes as I mention you have 30

Some witnesses stop their servers and become inactive but user votes are not adjusted. If you are in this list please adjust your vote.
