One of many varieties of #Hibiscus from Hawai'i, this hibiscus tiliaceus otherwise locally known as Hau (how) in #Hawaiian, is generally found close to the water's edge.
Whether it be salt #water or fresh water, this beauty has many subvarieties with varrying shades of flowers. The vast array include white, yellow, orange, and hues of sunset orange with a pink tint.
This #plant was used for many things in daily life. From #medicine to cordage, canoes to #clothing, this plant is very connected to traditional Hawaiian #culture.
Hope you enjoyed my #wiwcontests entry hosted by @dmcamera. She does a fun white-color focused photography challenge/ contest everyday. I hope this still counts for Wednesday... it is still Wednesday Hawaii time 😉🤗😅
