Last Sunday I went along to the local Flomarkt in Volls Innsbruck, as is customary when I wake on a Sunday morn' with fuck all else to do. Now although you can find many a bargain at car boot sale today was kinda special. Firstly I had just got back from a 5 day trip to the Soul Shred camp in Kaunertal filming with Gigi Ruef, Roli Tschoder and Simon Holtz, (all repping the awesome snowboard brand “SLASH”) so Imagine my surprise when I came across a Gigi Ruef signature Volcom jacket for six euros, I talked to the stall holder and her nephew was sponsored by Volcom and is
from Westendorf (sorry folks can’t remember his name, possibly Simon something or other?), anyway we talked a little and I discovered we had a friend in common, the legendary Gogo Gossner. Eeeeoooohhh!, Next up as I was rummaging through the mostly rubbish tat belonging to a guy who does house clearances around the Garmisch area, when I came across a box of slides, ere’ hang on a minute these are snowboarding photos, I recognise the name Wojciech from snowboard magazines back in the day, and holly shit there’s my mate Jocki Koefler in one of the slides. . I talked to the guy with the stall, trying to pretend I wasn’t that interested in the slides, so he wouldn’t bump the price up! when my usually lovely girlfriend piped up and told him I was a snowboard filmer, Shit!, there goes my bargain! thanks babe!
Anyway, after a little bargaining banter we settled on a euro for each page of slides, I bought six as thats how many coins I had in my pocket and asked him where he came across all these slides.
here’s where the story turns pretty sad, so if your the sensitive sort, stop reading here!
It turns out that a snowboard Photog by the name of Wojciech Zwirsinski had passed away on 31st march 2018, I barely knew Wojciek myself, when I saw his picture I realised I had met him on the sidelines of snowboard events, but I never got to know him well, but I do know many people that did know him well and due to my random sunday morning, I’m posting this in respect to the Photogs and Filmers past and present who battle on and capture moments of our favorite pastime ‘snowboarding’, not for monetary gain, but out of sheer love for the mountains and the people involved.

Here are a few of the slides from the flomarkt, I don’t hold the copyright ( I did pay for them so maybe I do have copyright ) but I’m putting them up here out of respect for a good man, if anyone objects you can go F*%$ yourself!

P.p.s. anyone interested in buying up the 5 big boxes of slides plus whatever other possesions Wojciech had, I have the contact details of the guy who did the house clearance, would be a shame for it to all to be destroyed or sold for shillings. message me if that's you!.
