Everything I don't like is woke: architectural version.

I have no idea who this idjit is, but contemporary architecture is not "woke."

It may be dismal in many respects, but there is no connection with "wokeness," because it's not about a particular political consciousness pertaining to injustices (real or perceived), and it certainly has little to no connection to the specific origin of the term woke, which has to do with black awareness of white racism.

For the right, it's "anything I don't like is woke"

For the left, it's "woke is just about being nice, what do you have against being nice?"

It's amazing how the anti-racist left, which is opposed to cultural appropriation, has thoughtlessly appropriated this black term and transformed it's meaning into something white liberals can be comfortable with.

Ironically, I mostly agree with his critique of the buildings he mentions. But imagine how stale and drably monolithic our cities would be if every building was, as he seems to demand, in the classical style. Perhaps he'd allow Breaux-arts style buildings, but there's be no art deco, and that would be a tragedy.
