The Doing Business released its 17th annual report measuring business regulations for local firms in 190 countries.

Mauritius holds the 13th place in the Doing Business ranking. It remains at the front position of the sub-Saharan economies with an “ease of doing business”.

In addition, in terms of middle-income economies, Mauritius stands second only to Malaysia.

New Zealand holds the first position in the Ease of Doing Business Rank, followed up by Singapore and Hong Kong in third place.

Doing Business measures business regulation and its effective application on the basis of several financial and location indicators. It gives equal weight to each topic and subsequently ranks the countries by sorting the aggregate scores.
