However, it seems that the protection and safety of their work abroad is often ignored.

Recent cases of labor torture from Indonesia again occur.

Mirisnya this time torture menipa a somewhat no longer young labor.

Reported by Grid.ID from an article published by New Starits Times dated April 10, 2018, an Indonesian migrant worker from Indonesia made the choice to escape.

This he did after experiencing persistent torture from his employer.

TKW named Siti Hajar Mohd Yatim, 62 years old.

He claimed to be beaten until he lost his hearing or deaf.

Siti can not even walk.

The incident took place in a house in Setapak, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia last March 2018.

Residents around said that Siti was treated badly since the first day of work by her employer.

Siti confesses that her employer also cursed and spat at her whenever his employer was unhappy.

On April 4, 2018, Siti Hajar chose to run away.

He did so by climbing the wall of a two-meter-tall house before finally seeking help from the public.

He was then taken to the Setapak police station.

On the police, Siti Hajar said her relatives managed to secure her job as a maid with a salary of RM900 (Rp 3.1 million) a month.

"When I first met my employer, a man in his 50s, he did not give me the impression that he was angry," said Siti.

"But on the first day of work, he hit my face just because he was not happy with some things," he continued.

"He also accused me of stealing food," he said.

Siti Hajar, who is not married, said the time when working at home was horrible.

He has been beaten with wood and even whipped.

"The employer, who is also the owner of a workshop, will go berserk if his son complains that I made a mistake or accused me of stealing money," he continued.

"Without checking, I will be beaten without mercy".

"In addition, my employer kept my cell phone, identity card and bank card to prevent me from leaving or contacting my family," he said.

Siti Hajar then said that she could no longer survive the torture.

On April 4, 2018, when he was beaten and threatened with sharp weapons, he chose to flee.

Siti says her employer's son has accused her of stealing money again.

He was then taken to Kuala Lumpur Hospital and treated for a week.

Siti then receives help from a charitable organization.

Regional police inspector Wangsa Maju, Mohamad Roy Suhaimi Sarif confirmed the case when contacted.

He said that further investigation of Siti's case was ongoing.

"The evidence of the victim has not been taken because the victim is not there (to the police station), Siti is currently in the care of a charitable organization," Suhaimi said.
