Wonder Woman and Superman is the dumbest possible romantic pairing and always has been.

It came from writers who did not understand the essence of either character or the values that shape them, and who probably don't really understand that functional relationships are actually built from pairing personalities and values, not just pairing people with some shared physical attributes.

Clark is, at this core, a simple introverted farm boy who just tries his best to do decent stuff for people because he lives in the world and wants to leave it a little better than he found it.

Wonder Woman is, at her core, a ~2,500 year old demi-god trained for war who wants to defeat evil through violence. Her falling for a brave soldier like Steve Trevor makes sense. She and Superman have little in common and don't gel at all.
